The study, conducted in Matina, Costa Rica, shows that household pesticide use, exposure to the fungicide thiabendazole, and living in areas with frequent waste burning are associated with a higher risk of respiratory problems and skin allergies in women. These findings highlight the importance of considering the impact of exposure to agricultural chemicals and air pollution on women's health in rural agricultural areas.
