Research Fellowships for Scientists from Costa Rica
Through this initiative, scientists who live and work in Costa Rica and have a formal working affiliation with a Costa Rican public university are given the opportunity to access grants for their research projects, as well as training with internationally renowned professors. The program offers opportunities for new researchers as well as for established scientists and academics.
Examples of research topics:
- The environment and children's health.
- Public, environmental, and occupational health in diverse populations.
- Disparities in health due to socioeconomic factors.
- Studies of environmental justice, occupational justice, or equitable access to health.
- Community interventions.
- Public health policy formulation and evaluation.
- Epidemiologic cohort studies or use of existing databases.
- Laboratory studies on health and environmental issues.
- South-South projects that have the potential to benefit from resources from other developing countries (project activities carried out in countries other than Costa Rica must be financed with funds from another source; funds from these grants can only finance activities carried out in Costa Rica).
