255 families in Matina benefited from food donations during the first six months of the COVID-19 pandemic

During the first 6 months of the COVID-19 pandemic, the ISA team delivered a total of 255 food packages to economically vulnerable families. The families were selected by the directors of the educational centers in Goshen, San Cristóbal, Colonia Puriscaleña, 26 millas, Estrada, Palacios, Línea B, Venecia, Santa María, and the local leader of the Barra del Pacuare community. 

The total amount raised for this donation was 1,031,270 CRC, with 24 food packages donated by officials, UNA students, and other external donors. 

The food packages were distributed in three rounds, one of which was made possible thanks to the UNA Volunteer Program of the Vice President for Student Life, coordinated by Esteban Campos Méndez. 

For the visits, the recommendations published by the Rectorate of the Universidad Nacional (UNA-R-DISC-035-202. Operationalization of PPAA Tours according to instruction UNA-R-DISC-028-2020).
