Since February 2016 and approximately until March 2017, a team of professionals from the ISA Program has been conducting home visits to women, children, and infants involved in the study. These visits involve administering questionnaires related to the participants' health status and collecting urine, hair, saliva, and nail samples, as well as dust samples to detect pesticide and manganese residues. Additionally, results are provided regarding the levels of pesticides detected in previous assessments, the nutritional status of the children and their mothers, among other factors.
With the information gathered during the visits, further study will be conducted to determine if exposure to pesticides and manganese can affect the health of the participants.
